Product spotlight: Craft Fantastic

Craft Fantastic

Craft Fantastic, a long-time favorite vendor at the Bead&Button Show, sells kits or components to make personalized jewelry. They sell bezels designed to hold a printed image, either sold by them or something of your own creation. You glue the paper to the bottom of the bezel, and then top it with a clear glass cabochon using their special glue. You could also use resin.

Craft Fantastic sells many different sized and shaped components, each featuring a tray (or bezel) that is made to fit with one of the different standardized sizes and shapes of glass in their system. Learn how to make their glass cabochon pendants in the video tutorial above hosted by Karen Rice from Craft Fantastic.

We picked up a few of the bezels and kits at the Bead&Button Show in Milwaukee this past June to try them out.

Faux leather bracelets
Faux leather bracelets
The first thing we checked out was the faux leather bracelet kit. For only $9.95, you can make five easy bracelets. The kit included glass, leather and findings -- everything you need other than the images and glue. To assemble, simply tie a simple lark’s head knot with the leather to either side of the finished bezel and voila! a bracelet!

Twist bracelet kit
The Twist Bracelet Kit ($8.95) required a little bit more assembly - a few jump rings needed to be closed to link the bezels to each other. That’s right, the jump rings come pre-opened.

Pocket watch trays
The Birdcage Brooches Kit ($6.95) came with three trays fitted with a pin already attached. The small square glass needed to be purchased separately.

We also bought a few Pocket Watch Trays, both silver and bronze. They are darling and have a retro-Steampunk look.

The products from Craft Fantastic are perfect for a newbie to use quickly and easily with their preprinted images. The more experienced jewelry-maker could certainly experiment with resin or mixed media. All of the kits created good-looking jewelry that was easy to assemble.
