1. Determine the finished length of your necklace by wrapping a coil of memory wire around your neck so it fits comfortably. (Mine is 17 in./43cm.) Add 1 in. (2.5cm) and cut a piece of memory wire to that length with heavy-duty wire cutters. Center the focal bead on the wire.

2. On each side of the focal bead, string 1⁄2 in. (1.3cm) of record beads, three record beads of a second color, 1⁄2 in. (1.3cm) of record beads, and an accent bead.

3. On each end, string an alternating pattern of 1⁄2 in. (1.3cm) of record beads and three record beads of a second color until the beads are within 1⁄2 in. (1.3cm) of the desired length. Make a loop at each end.

1. Cut a 2-in. (5cm) piece of wire and make a plain loop at one end. String the focal bead and make a plain loop above the bead. String an accent bead on a head pin and make a plain loop. Make a total of two accent-bead units.
Open the loops of the focal-bead dangle and attach an accent bead’s loop to each. Close the loops.
