1. On a 10-in. (25cm) piece of Fireline, string seven 11/0 seed beads, the pendant, and seven 11/0s (PHOTO A). Tie the ends together with a surgeon’s knot, then go through all the beads again. Secure both ends of the thread with a few half-hitch knots between beads, and trim the tails.

2. Determine the desired length of your necklace. Mine is 19 in. (48cm). Add 6 in. (15cm), and cut three pieces of beading wire to that length.

3. Over all three wires, center a crystal, the pendant, and a crystal (PHOTO B).

4. On one end, string a 12mm bead and a crystal eight times. Then string a 5–6mm round bead (PHOTO C). Repeat on the other side.

5. Separate the three wires, and string each with a random or repeating pattern of 11/0s and crystals (PHOTO D) for about 4 1⁄4 in. (10.8cm). Repeat on the other end.

6. Test the fit, and add or remove beads as needed.

7. Over all three wires, string a 4mm large-hole bead, a crimp bead, a 2mm round bead, and half the clasp. Go back through the beads just strung (PHOTO E) and crimp the crimp bead. Snug up the beads, and, leaving a little slack, repeat on the other end. Trim the excess wire.

Tip!
If you use beading wire that is thicker than .010, you’ll need to substitute a large-hole bead for the 2mm bead between the crimp and the clasp, as I did in the purple necklace.

1. Thread a needle on each end of a 12-in. (30cm) piece of Fireline. On one needle, string six 11/0 seed beads, a 2mm round bead, the pendant, a 2mm, and six 11/0s.

2. With both needles, go through a crystal (PHOTO F).

3. With one needle, pick up ten 11/0s and go back through the crystal (PHOTO G). Go through these beads in the other direction with the other needle. Retrace the thread path at least once, then snug up the beads and secure each tail in the beadwork with half-hitch knots. Trim.
