Quick metal leaf bracelet

With a simple pattern and large leaf-shaped beads, you can whip up a single-strand bracelet in just a few minutes.

Make this great set for Fall in less than an hour!

  • 3 18–22 mm Hill Tribes silver leaf-shaped beads
  • 3–4 6 mm faceted round beads
  • 7–8 4 mm faceted round beads
  • 6–8 3–4 mm rondelles
  • 10–12 2–3 mm spacers
  • flexible beading wire, .014 or .015
  • 2 crimp beads
  • toggle clasp
  • chainnose or crimping pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

  • 2 18–25 mm triangular or leaf-shaped beads
  • 2 3–4 mm rondelles
  • 2 2–3 mm spacers
  • 2 2-in. (5 cm) head pins
  • pair of earring wires
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

An oxidized-silver color of metal and a handful of beads in fun fall colors combine to make a quick and easy bracelet that looks great peeking out from the cuff of a blazer or sweater.
Quick metal leaf bracelet Step 1

1. Cut a piece of beading wire and center a leaf-shaped bead.

2. On each end, string: 4 mm round bead, rondelle, spacer, 6 mm round bead, spacer, rondelle, 4 mm, leaf. Repeat until the bracelet is within 1 in. (2.5 cm) of the finished length.

3. On each end, string a spacer, a crimp bead, a spacer, and half of the clasp. Check the fit, and add or remove beads from each end if necessary. Go back through the beads just strung and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead and trim the excess wire.

TIP:  For an asymmetrical bracelet, don’t finish with the same pattern on each end. Instead, string a shorter beaded pattern on one end.

If you want to extend the leaf motif but don’t want to match too much, try earrings in a similar shape but with different materials. I used glass beads in tortoise and black to match the bracelet colors and oxidized finish.
