Green glass bracelet for May

To imitate the lush color of emerald (the May birthstone) without the expense, put together a bracelet with assorted green tones!

Start with three-cut seed beads in pea green, then add depth with glass beads in yellow, brown, and dark grey.

  • 50–70 5–12 mm glass beads
  • 3 6-in. (15 cm) strands three-cut 6/0 seed beads
  • flexible beading wire, .014 or .015
  • 6 crimp beads
  • 6 Wire Guardians
  • three-strand slide clasp
  • chainnose or crimping pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

Green glass bracelet Step 1
1. Cut three pieces of beading wire. On one wire, string 6/0 seed beads and glass beads until the strand is the finished length.

2. On each of the remaining wires, string 6/0s and glass beads in different arrangements until each strand is the finished length.

3. On one end of one wire, string a 6/0, a crimp bead, a Wire Guardian, and a loop of half of a clasp. Repeat on the other end. Check the fit, and add or remove beads if necessary. Go back through the beads just strung and tighten the wire.

4. Repeat step 3 on the remaining ends. Crimp the crimp beads and trim the excess wire.
  • Three-cut 6/0 seed beads are sometimes sold in hanks. Each hank has three 6-in. (15 cm) strands.
  • To make sure you attach each strand correctly when finishing the bracelet, keep the slide clasp closed.

One of the advantages of seed beads and glass beads is that they have large holes, so you could just as easily string a quick memory-wire cuff.
