Guitar pick bracelet

Colorful picks blend harmoniously with any bead stash.

Choose beads to match any taste, mood, or budget. Picks come in a rainbow of colors, so your options are endless. The instructions offer one design idea, but it’s more fun if everybody beads to their own tune.


5 guitar picks (if you don't play, you can pick them up from your local music store)
6–8 10 mm rondelles  
12–14 8 mm round beads  
16–20 4 mm bicone crystals   
flexible beading wire, .014 or .015
6 6 mm split rings
2 crimp beads
lobster claw clasp
chainnose or crimping pliers
diagonal wire cutters
micro hole punch
split-ring pliers (optional) 

You can buy a micro hole punch at a craft or scrapbooking store.

1. Use a micro hole punch to punch a hole at the wide end of a guitar pick. Attach a split ring. Make five pick units.

2. Cut a piece of beading wire and center a pick unit.

3. On each end, string: 8 mm round, 4 mm bicone, 10 mm rondelle, bicone, round.

4. On each end, string a pick unit and the pattern from step 3. Repeat. Allowing 1 in. (2.5 cm) for finishing, check the fit, and add or remove beads if necessary.

5. On one end, string a bicone, a crimp bead, a bicone, and a lobster claw clasp. Repeat on the other end, substituting a split ring for the clasp. Go back through the last few beads strung and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp beads and trim the excess wire.
