Zipper heart earrings

Upcycle an old garment into cutting-edge earrings

Give a worn-out piece of clothing a stylish new life with these clever earrings. Because metal zippers work best for this project, I used the zipper from a beloved old sweatshirt. It was red, therefore a heart made sense.

  • metal zipper
  • 8 in. (20 cm) 20-gauge wire
  • 24 in. (61 cm) 28-gauge wire
  • pair of earring wires
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters
  • scissors
