Blossoming beads necklace

String Lucite petal beads for a lush, lovely set

I was instantly drawn to these Lucite petals — their color, shape, and weight were just right. The key to this necklace is stringing the beads back to back and fluffing the petals before wearing, just as you’d fluff artificial flowers. In the end, you’ll have a lush, lovely set that transitions from winter to spring.

Necklace: 1. Cut a 12-in. (30 cm) piece of beading wire. String a 4 mm round bead, a petal bead, a seed bead, and a petal, stringing the petals back to back. Repeat until the strand is 6–7 in. (15–18 cm), ending with a 4 mm.

2. Cut a 4–5-in. (10–13 cm) and a 5–6-in. (13–15 cm) piece of chain. On each end of the wire, string a bicone crystal, a crimp bead, a bicone, and an end link of chain. Go back through the beads just strung and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead and trim the excess wire.
