4. Pick up an A 11/0, a 15/0 seed bead, and an A 11/0. Sew through the A 11/0 your thread exited at the start of this step and the next A 11/0 in the ring (FIGURE 3, a–b).

5. Pick up an A 11/0 and a 15/0, and sew through the adjacent 11/0 from the previous stitch, the A 11/0 your thread exited at the start of this step, and the next A 11/0 in the ring (b–c). Repeat around the ring until you sew through the last unembellished 11/0 in the ring (c–d). Sew through the next A 11/0 in the first stitch, pick up a 15/0, sew through the adjacent A 11/0 in the last stitch, the A 11/0 in the ring, and the next A 11/0 in the first stitch again (d–e).

6. Pick up a 3 mm bicone crystal and three 15/0s. Skip the last three 15/0s, and sew back through the 3 mm bicone, the A 11/0 your thread exited at the start of this step, the next A 11/0 in the ring, and the adjacent A 11/0 in the next stitch (FIGURE 4, a–b). Repeat around the ring (b–c).

7. Pick up a 2 mm round crystal, and sew through the next A 11/0 in the second round (FIGURE 5, a–b). Repeat around the ring, and exit a 15/0 in the second round (b–c).

8. Pick up a color B 11/0 seed bead, and sew through the next 15/0 in the round (c–d). Repeat around the ring (d–e). Retrace the thread path through the 15/0s and Bs, and end the thread.

Side components

1. To create the side components, repeat steps 1–5 of “Center component” with the following changes:

  • In step 1, pick up a 6 mm pearl instead of an 8 mm pearl.
  • In step 2, pick up six A 11/0s instead of eight.

2. Work as in step 6, but adjust the first three fringes as follows: Pick up a 3 mm bicone and a 15/0. Sew through the center 15/0 from a fringe on the center component, pick up a 15/0, and sew back through the 3 mm, the A 11/0 your thread exited at the start of this step, the next A 11/0 in the ring, and the adjacent A 11/0 in the next stitch (FIGURE 6, a–b). Repeat twice (b–c), then continue the round of fringe as in step 6.

To add 3 mm pearl embellishments to the connection, sew through the first 3 mm bicone and two 15/0s connecting the side component to the center component (FIGURE 7, a–b). Pick up a 3 mm pearl, and sew through the next center 15/0 (b–c). Repeat (c–d). Pick up a 15/0, and sew back through the last 15/0, 3 mm pearl, 15/0, 3 mm pearl, and 15/0 (d–e). Pick up a 15/0, and sew through the beadwork to exit an A 11/0 in the second round (e–f).

3. Repeat steps 7 and 8 of “Center component.”

4. Repeat steps 1–3 for a total of six side components. Connect three on each side of the center component. Make sure to connect the three corresponding fringes on each component.

1. On 1 yd. (.9 m) of 6 lb. Fireline, attach a stop bead, leaving an 8-in. (20 cm) tail. Pick up 17 15/0s. Working in odd-count peyote stitch, work a total of 10 rows (FIGURE 8). Roll the strip into a tube, and zip up the ends.

2. Sew through the center of the tube, and pick up a 4 mm pearl and three 15/0s. Skip the three 15/0s, and sew back through the 4 mm pearl. Repeat on the other end of the tube. Sew through the beadwork to exit an edge 15/0 at one end of the tube.

3. Pick up a 15/0, and sew through the next two 15/0s on the end (FIGURE 9, a–b). Repeat, adding a 15/0 between each pair of 15/0s on the end of the tube. Step up through a 15/0 in the new round, pick up a 15/0, and sew through the next 15/0 in the round. Repeat around the end. Sew through the tube, and repeat on the other end. Sew through the tube, and exit a 15/0 in the seventh round of the tube at point c.

4. Pick up a 15/0, a 3 mm bicone, and three 15/0s. Sew back through the 3 mm bicone, pick up a 15/0, and sew through the 15/0 your thread exited at the start of this step (c–d). Sew through the 15/0, 3 mm bicone, and two 15/0s just added (d–e). Pick up a 15/0, a 3 mm bicone, and a 15/0, and sew through the center 15/0 on the corresponding fringe of an end side component (e–f). Pick up a 15/0, and sew back through the last 3 mm bicone added. Pick up a 15/0, and sew through the center 15/0 (f–g). Sew through the beadwork to exit the next 15/0 in the same row on the tube (g–h). Repeat twice.

5. Add 3 mm pearl embellishments to the connection as in step 2 of “Side components.”

CelestialpearlFringe
Adding fringe to the clasp loop completes the design.

Toggle loop

1. On 1 yd. (.9 m) of 8 lb. Fireline, pick up a repeating pattern of a 15/0 and an A 11/0 18 times. Sew through the first 15/0 again to form a ring, leaving a 6-in. (15 cm) tail.

2. Pick up a 3 mm bicone and three 15/0s. Skip the three 15/0s, and sew back through the 3 mm bicone and the next 15/0 and 11/0 in the ring. Repeat around the ring, but attach three of the fringes from the remaining end side component to attach the loop. Add the 3 mm pearl embellishment as in step 2 of “Side components.” End the working thread and tail.

The back of this bracelet is just as lovely as the front, doubling your design options.

Project plus:
Let the versatile components inspire additional projects:

  • Make one center and two side components to use as a necklace focal piece, then use beading wire to string the neck chain.
  • Connect one or more components for a pair of earrings.
  • Skip step 6 to omit the 3 mm crystal fringe round, making a more casual component.
