Peyote with a twist--not crochet word charts

Learn the basics of this new peyote technique that mimics the look of single-bead crochet
August issue cover

These two row-by-row charts are for the projects featured in the “Peyote with a twist—not crochet“ Technique Workshop from the August 2018 issue of Bead&Button magazine. The instructions, bead colors, and needed quantities can be found on pages 22–24 of the print issue.

Need a copy of the magazine? Did you know that most back issues of Bead&Button magazine, as well as hundreds of books, patterns, and jewelry-making tools, are available from our Jewelry & Beading Store? Fill in the gaps in your collection, or replace a copy that has been lost (or worn out!).

Beginner zigzag bracelet pattern
BEginner zigzag bracelet
The finished bracelet, designed by Connie Whittaker

1. On a comfortable length of thread, attach a stop bead, leaving a 12-in. (30 cm) tail. Starting at the upper-right corner of the pattern, pick up a color A 11/0 seed bead, eight color B 11/0 seed beads, and an A.

2. Work five rows in flat even-count peyote stitch to create a swatch with a total of seven rows. Remove the stop bead.

3. Work the join, and finish the bracelet according to the instructions in the magazine.
