Shipwreck Beads features unique show finds

New arrivals in turquoise

We’re just a few months away from the start of the Bead&Button Show, and we’re excited to see what’s new! We find so much inspiration among the creative people we meet in Milwaukee that come in from all over the world.

One of our other favorite times occurred earlier this year in late January/early February. One might ask, “Why on earth would someone from Washington state look forward to the darkest, coldest, wettest and all around dreariest season imaginable?” If you’re a bead-head, jewelry designer, or gemstone enthusiast, you know the answer: The Tucson Gem Show, of course!

New arrivals in gemstones

While much of the U.S. and Canada is still deep in the frigid throws of winter, exhibitors and buyers from the world over converge on this southern Arizona town by the tens of thousands.

Over 50,000 gem show visitors are greeted by bright sunshine, mild winter temperatures, great dining options, and social activities that this little city is famous for.

All that, plus the most expansive selections of fine gemstones, jewelry, fossils, pearls, and beads imaginable.

We source many of our finer quality gemstonespearls, and specialty beads during our annual journey to this Gemstone Mecca in the desert. While not every Shipwreck Beads employee gets to travel south to soak up some delightful sunshine, they’re still eagerly awaiting the unboxing to catch their first glimpse of our yearly haul.
More new arrivals in gemstones

Each gemstone is personally hand selected by our buyers, ensuring only the highest quality and unique pieces are shipped home to Shipwreck. This year’s new and noteworthy additions include freeform turquoise/copper mosaic pendants, druzy quartz cabochons, chocolate moonstone beads, and some seriously drool-worthy amber! Many of our Tucson gemstones are very limited in quantity and may not be available for re-order so if you want them, order soon!

Maybe some of these beauties, along with beads found at the Bead&Button Show in June, will find their way into your future projects!
