Dancing queen earrings

Round crystals dangle from fine beading chains to create virtually weightless earrings.

For a pair of fast, fabulous earrings, look no further than these shimmering baubles. String same-colored beads — clear crystals resemble miniature disco balls — or use assorted crystals left over from other projects. With minimal effort, you’ll have a pair of earrings to take you from day job to dance floor in style.

SUPPLIES

  • 10 6mm round crystals
  • 23–26 in. (58–66cm) 0.6mm beading chain
  • 10 1mm crimp beads
  • 2 crimp ends, 2mm hole
  • pair of earring wires
  • chainnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

INSTRUCTIONS

Dancingqueen1
1. Cut five pieces of beading chain to different lengths, as desired. (In my earrings, the pieces range from 11⁄2–3 in./3.8–7.6cm.)

2. Gather the five chains together and insert them into a crimp end. Flatten the crimp portion of the crimp end.

3. String a crystal and a crimp bead on one chain. At the end of the chain, flatten the crimp bead. Repeat on the remaining chains.

4. Open the loop on an earring wire. Attach the dangle and close the loop. Make a second earring to match the first.
