My latest splurge – The Bead On It Board

I’ve heard rave reviews about the Bead On It Board for quite some time. At the Bead&Button Show last month, I decided it was time for me to purchase one and see for myself what all the hype is about. Before purchasing it, I even asked a fellow student in Melanie Potter’s stitching master class if it was something that I really needed. She emphatically replied, “Yes, you just have to have one! It’s worth the money, and you won’t be disappointed. You simply have to have one.” So, then came the daunting process of choosing which one, as there is a delightfully large selection of fabrics, shapes, and sizes to choose from. It was a tough decision, but I choose the 6 x 11 in. (15 cm x 28 cm) size.

The feature that made me seek out the Bead On It Board more than anything else was the rumor that with a gentle shake of the board, your seed beads will roll and settle with their holes facing up, making it easier to pick up your beads. Well, I can confirm that this rumor is correct. How cool is that? Honestly, I really do like everything about the Bead On It Board. It is finely constructed, the padded sides keep my beads contained, and for whatever reason, I feel happy when I use it.

If you are curious, there is a video on their website demonstrating how the beads adjust with the holes facing upward. Plus they give you more information about the board. You can purchase the Bead On It Board at the company website or it’s also widely available at bead stores. I can see that having several of these in different sizes could be most useful. I would love to hear your favorite size.
