Have you made plans to join us in Milwaukee, WI, for the 2020 Bead&Button Show? We can’t wait to see you! It’s an amazing collection of vendors, artists, teachers, and creative learners. If you love jewelry-making, it’s truly a special experience.

The Show is taking place May 31-June 7. If you haven’t been to a Show yet you’re in for a real treat. For starters, there’s a dizzying variety of classes to take in all sorts of techniques and using all kinds of materials — everything from beading to wirework, metal clay to metalworking, enameling to etching. (Find out for yourself by browsing all classes here.)

The Bead&Button Show is located at the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Then there’s the Bead&Jewelry Expo: three days of amazing shopping that will introduce you to new materials and inspire you with fresh ideas. Expo vendors always surprise us with new products and news ways to use familiar materials. Demos and make-and-takes offer hands-on experience. And we love the ready-made jewelry, too!

Here at Bead Buzz we will be checking in with you regularly to make sure you’re keeping up to date about the Show. Right now, our best piece of advice is to book your hotel as early as you can. Demand is high now because Milwaukee is hot – it’s hosting the Democratic National Convention in July, and the Ryder Cup golf tournament is happening nearby in September. Along with a winning NBA team (you HAVE heard of Giannis Antetokounmpo, right?), it’s getting a lot of attention and popping up on a lot of must-see lists.

Frame it Up! by James Carter

Master Class seats are still available! We jumped up and down after learning that metal artists James Carter and David Huang would be teaching this year because their work is so gorgeous, and we heard raves from people who have taken their classes in the past. James will be sharing a technique he has spent many years developing; it involves mounting enamel pieces, gemstones, textured sheet and wire in a frame. David is sharing his secrets about the art of chasing; students will work with pre-made copper vessels to add form and texture to the metal’s surface. Hurry before the classes fill up!
