The buzz at Bead&Button magazine this month December 2019

Learn what is being said about the controversy between seed bead and multi-hole beads, how to get more peyote pattern projects and techniques, holiday beading, and one way for readers to be heard.

In case you missed the December 2019 Bead&Button magazine’s editorial, here’s a recap.

Senior Technical Editor Connie Whittaker addressed the readership: “Bead&Button is committed to our readers and to what they have been communicating to us. Your voices have been heard!”

One particular conversation we often hear from subscribers relates to seed bead projects versus multi-hole bead projects. “Many [readers] have expressed the desire for more projects using classic beads, such as seed beads, pearls, and crystals, because some beaders have a large stash of these. Other readers love the new and multi-hole beads because there are a wide variety of designs made from them. In this coming year, we hope to bring you a better balance of both styles of projects.”

You will see more projects with classic beads in both the printed magazine and online. In fact, we are bringing back peyote pattern projects to each issue and one in the B&B Extra — this is our online Subscriber Exclusive collection, which delivers bonus projects on the months between issues.

It wouldn’t be December without a dazzling display of holiday projects. We have plenty of crystals and pearls embedded with seed beads: Cathy Andrews shows us how to make “Dainty duality pendants,” which are two sided. Juanita Carlos guides us through her lovely “Ultimate infinity bracelet.” Zsuzsanna Erdie shows us how to dangle beaded snowflakes from a wrapped bracelet.
