How to start planning for the Bead&Button Show

If you don’t already know about the Bead&Button Show, now is a good time to get introduced! This annual event, organized by the team behind and Bead&Button magazine, is an outstanding gathering of jewelry makers, artists, vendors and instructors. Each June, thousands of people from across the globe gather in Milwaukee, WI, to learn, shop, exchange ideas, and explore new ideas in jewelry-making. 


Here at Bead Buzz, we’ll share behind-the-scenes news about the Show with you regularly. Even though it’s months away, you’ll want to stay on top of special announcements that will be rolling out as we prepare for our 20thAnniversary. Show staff is busy cooking up plans to celebrate, and we’ll make sure you know every detail.

BeadDreams 2019 Honorable Mention: "Blue Butterflies" by Svetlana Vladimirova, Finished Jewelry Category
  • BeadDreams, our annual competition for jewelry artists that’s spotlighted at the Show, is celebrating the 20thanniversary by reducing entry fees by $20! Not only that, but the competition will accept any work created in the past 20 years, which means you can resurrect projects you’re proud of but didn’t quite complete in time for prior competitions.   • We’ve announced our commemorative Show Bead! It’s designed by Cindi Brunell of Livonia, MI. Cindi will create a limited number of beads that will be available through our online store and at the Show. Read more here, and sign up for our newsletters to stay posted about on-sale dates.
In addition to hundreds of beading classes, attendees can explore a wide variety of other jewelry-making techniques.
  • The Show team is finalizing the lineup of 2020 classes, combing through hundreds of proposals from instructors who come from across the globe to teach. We love sitting in on the jurying sessions, in which each proposal is reviewed and discussed, and you’ll love what we have in store for you! Mark your calendars: Online browsing begins at noon Central Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019. At that time you can visit the Bead&Button Show website to view all available classes and start making plans for your Show experience. Online registration begins Noon Central Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020.
