Get loopy easy seed bead necklace

String a necklace with a turnabout trick.

MATERIALS

necklace 18 in. (46 cm)

  • 3 10 mm rondelles
  • 3 8 mm twisted round crystals, color A
  • 6 mm bicone crystals
    • 2 color A
    • 6 color B
  • 4 6 mm coin beads
  • 4 mm bicone crystals
    • 30 color A
    • 2 color B
    • 4 color C
  • 2–3 g 15/0 seed beads
  • 2 crimp beads
  • clasp
  • flexible beading wire, .015
  • Bead Stopper or tape
  • crimping pliers
  • wire cutters

1. Cut 2 yd. (1.8 m) of beading wire.

2. Center a 10 mm rondelle. On each side, string 25 15/0 seed beads. On one side, string an 8 mm twisted round crystal, and cross the other end of the wire through it. Temporarily secure one end with a Bead Stopper or tape, and work steps 3–11 with the other end.

3. String six 15/0s, a color A 4 mm bicone crystal, and six 15/0s.

4. String a color B 6 mm bicone crystal, 12 15/0s, an A 4 mm, and 12 15/0s. To form a loop, go through the B 6 mm again, then repeat step 3.

5. String an 8 mm, 18 15/0s, a 10 mm, and 18 15/0s. To form a loop, go through the 8 mm again, then repeat step 3.

6. String a color B 4 mm bicone crystal, nine 15/0s, an A 4 mm, and nine 15/0s. To form a loop, go through the B 4 mm again, then repeat step 3. 

7. String a color A 6 mm bicone crystal, 15 15/0s, a 6 mm coin, and 15 15/0s. To form a loop, go through the A 6 mm again, then repeat step 3.

8. String a color C 4 mm bicone crystal, nine 15/0s, an A 4 mm, and nine 15/0s. To form a loop, go through the C 4 mm again, then repeat step 3.

9. String an A 4 mm, 12 15/0s, a B 6 mm, and 12 15/0s. To form a loop, go through the A 4 mm again, then repeat step 3.

10. String a 6 mm coin, nine 15/0s, an A 4 mm, and nine 15/0s. To form a loop, go through the 6 mm coin again, then repeat step 3.

11. String a B 6 mm, six 15/0s, an A 4 mm, six 15/0s, a C 4 mm, six 15/0s, an A 4 mm, 12 15/0s, a crimp bead, 15 15/0s, and half of the clasp. Go back through the crimp bead to temporarily secure this end, but do not crimp the crimp bead.

12. Remove the Bead Stopper or tape, and repeat steps 3–11 on the remaining end.

13. Test the fit, and add or remove beads if necessary. Crimp the crimp beads, and trim the wire on both ends.
