1. On a decorative head pin, string a violet 11/0 seed bead, a teardrop bead, and an 11/0. Make a plain loop. Make seven or eight teardrop units and three or four trapezoid units with cream 11/0s.
2. Cut a piece of beading wire. On the wire, center a 1-in. (2.5 cm) piece of chain. Over both ends, string a violet 11/0 and a teardrop.
3. On one end, string an alternating pattern of five or six violet 11/0s and five or six teardrops. Then string an alternating pattern of five or six cream 11/0s and five or six trapezoids.
4. On the other end, string an alternating pattern of cream 11/0s and trapezoids until both sides of the necklace are the same length.
5. Open the loop of a teardrop unit and attach the chain. Close the loop. Attach two or three bead units to each link. Attach the trapezoid units at the bottom of the chain.
6. On each end, string a cream 11/0, a crimp bead, a cream 11/0, and half of a toggle clasp. Check the fit and add or remove beads if necessary. Go back through the last few beads strung and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead and trim the excess wire.
