Beaded bubble wands

Create this quick and easy toy from the beads in your stash and a bit of wire. Perfect for a child of any age!

Make simple wands by wrapping wire around a round object like a highlighting marker, a bottle of correction fluid, or a lipstick tube. Then grab some soapy liquid and let the bubbles fly!

SUPPLIES

  • 6–10 7–20 mm large-hole beads
  • 5–8 6/0 or 8/0 seed beads
  • 16 in. (41 cm) 18-gauge colored wire (Fire Mountain Gems and Beads, firemountaingems.com)
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

3. Using a round object with a different diameter than the first one, make a wrapped loop. If you have trouble keeping the round shape as you complete the wraps, use your fingers to make the wraps with the round object still in the loop.

To use your wand, just dip it into a pool of soapy liquid and blow! For some homemade bubble formulas, visit bubbleblowers.com.
