Easy ombré bracelets

Elevate a simple bracelet with a subtle shift in color. The movement of opaque gemstones into light, airy Czech glass creates a soft visual blend. Add a bit of shine and you’ll have a stylish accessory in a snap!

SUPPLIES

Bracelet 8 in. (20 cm)

  • 12–14 10–12 mm round gemstone beads
  • 5–7 6–9 mm faceted rondelles
  • 2 6–9 mm rhinestone rondelles
  • 6–9 mm large-hole round metal bead
  • Stretch Magic cord, 1 mm
  • diagonal wire cutters
  • Rio JetSet Adhesive

Gemstones from Beads on Sale, beadsonsale.com. Adhesive from Rio Grande, riogrande.com. Check your local bead store for supplies. 

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1
Cut a 12-in. (30 cm) piece of cord. Gently pull the cord to pre-stretch it. String a rhinestone rondelle, five to seven glass rondelles, and a rhinestone rondelle. Center the beads on the cord.

On each end of the cord, string six or seven 10–12 mm round beads. On one end, string a large-hole bead.

Gently stretching both ends of the cord, tie a square knot as close to the beads as possible. Tie a second square knot over the first, pulling the cord tight.

Keeping the beads away from the knots, apply adhesive to the knots and allow to dry. Trim the excess cord to 1⁄8 in. (3 mm). Stretch the bracelet slightly and slip the knots into the large-hole bead.
