Tiny works of art earrings

Silver frames showcase favorite beads in versatile earrings

Spend ten minutes to make something that will be appreciated forever. These simple earrings can capture the personality of a multitude of wearers depending on the combination of beads and frame you choose.

SUPPLIES

  • 2 15–20mm open-center frame beads
  • 6–12 2–8mm beads and spacers
  • 2 2 1⁄2-in. (6.4cm) head pins
  • pair of earring wires
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

The frames are available from many places, including Midwest Beads, midwestbeads.com, and Auntie’s Beads, auntiesbeads.com.

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1
1. On a head pin, string the bottom hole of a frame, several beads, and the top hole of the frame.

2. Make a wrapped loop.

3. Open the loop of an earring wire. Attach the dangle. Close the loop. Make a second earring to match the first.
Tip!
• Shake things up by stringing different beads in matching frames. Or, string the same set of beads in a different order in each earring.
• If the bottom hole of the frame is larger than the head of a head pin, string a seed bead or spacer on the head pin before step 1.
