September: Sapphire earrings

I love the classic blue sapphire color, even if it’s not a real sapphire. These chunky Lucite beads pack a powerful (but not overpowering) punch while the delicate chain accents add elegance.

  • 2 30 mm Lucite nuggets
  • 2 3 mm bicone crystals
  • 2 4 mm spacers
  • 14 in. (36 cm) chain, 2 mm links
  • 2 3-in. (7.6 cm) head pins
  • 2 1 1⁄2-in. (3.8 cm) head pins
  • pair of earring wires
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

Check your local bead store for supplies.

Store these earrings hanging up to keep the chains from tangling.
