Learn new beading skills at the Bead&Button Show

We're excited to highlight some brand-new classes that we can't wait to check out at our own Bead&Button Show, the largest consumer bead show event in the world. The Show takes place at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, WI, June 4-11, 2017. There will be hundreds of classes teaching every kind of jewelry-making technique — come explore and see what you'd like to learn!

CARIBBEAN NIGHTS NECKLACE

Designed to teach on a beading cruise to the Caribbean, this necklace features Lunasoft cabochons captured in easy and reversible peanut bead bezels, suspended between highly textured supple swags and trios of complementary beads. Carol Cypher will teach students a simple and secure bezeling technique that exploits the unique shape of peanut beads, and an oval rope based on Polygon stitch; how to connect the components with an innovative use of SuperDuo beads and beading wire.

MEDICI'S WRAP BRACELET

Learn and master the prismatic right-angle weave (PRAW) technique as you create this colorful bangle with Agnieszka Watts. The bracelet has an unique hand-made clasp, which is fashioned with different kinds of CzechMates glass beads. Students will learn how to create the clasp of their choice in class, however the pattern will include directions on how to make other kinds.

Students in this class with Doris Weinbaum will make these three versatile chains that can be worn together, separately, or twisted into a six chain choker. They will also learn how to make a necklace shortener that will add a decorative element and hold the choker together.

Looking like fine jewelry, this pair of stylish bracelets by Laura Andrews are quick to create and a joy to wear. New beads, bezeled chatons, and beautifully made customizable clasps complete these pieces. Students will focus on learning quick bezeling techniques for chatons and other small crystals, and integrating these bezels into jewelry.
