How To Make Seed Bead Necklaces

- Identify your desired length
Start this project by estimating the length of your preferred design using a tape measure around your neck and gauge your desired length. This design requires only 25 inches long but you can cut your beading thread with added 10 inches more, to give allowance for placing the clasps. Knot one end of the thread leaving about 1.5 inches.
- Thread the beads
Thread the needle and insert the beads through the needle in order of the color sequence below:
- 10 blue seed beads first
- Followed by 3 silver seed beads
- Then insert 5 white seed beads
- Add 3 silver seed beads
Go through the same sequence until you are halfway through the thread, to add the pendant.
- Add the pendant
Use a jump ring and pliers to connect the locket to the thread. Then continue threading the beads in the same sequence until you reach the other end of the string, leaving about 3 inches allowance.
- Securing the last bead
Push all the beads inwards, making sure that beading is gently tight. Insert the needle through the other end of the last bead. Pull the needle all the way through. This will secure the last bead and hence, secure the beading, like the below picture:
- Locking the bead string
With the extra strand at the beginning point of the thread, tie one jump ring. On the other end, connect the lobster clasp using a jump ring.
