On a comfortable length of thread, pick up a color B 8/0 seed bead and seven color A 8/0 seed beads. Sew through the beads again to form a ring, leaving a 6-in. (15 cm) tail, and continue through the next six beads (Figure 1, a-b).
To work a four-bead join: Pick up a B and an A, and sew through the last two 8/0s your thread exited at the start of this step. Retrace the thread path, and continue through the new B and A (b-c).
To work the next base ring: Pick up six As, and sew through the B and the A your thread exited at the start of this step. Retrace the thread path, and continue through the next four As (c-d).
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the desired length of the bracelet, ending on step 3. My 7 1/2-in. (19.1 cm) bracelet has 17 base rings, including the starting ring from step 1. End and add thread as needed.
