Right-angle weave: Flat strip

Step 1: Pick up four beads, and tie them into a ring with a square knot, leaving the desired length tail. Sew through the first three beads again (Figure 1). This is the first stitch of the strip.

Step 2: Pick up three beads. Sew through the last bead in the previous stitch (Figure 2, a–b), and continue through the first two beads picked up in this stitch (Figure 2, b–c)

Step 3: Continue working as in step 2, adding three beads per stitch (alternate the direction of the thread path for each one) (Figure 3), until the first row is the desired length.
