Loomwork: Weaving the pattern

Step 1: Tie the end of a 1-yd. (.9 m) length of thread to the first warp just below the spring at the top of the loom.

Step 2: Bring the thread behind the warp threads. String the first row of beads, from left to right (Figure 1), and slide them to the knot.

Step 3: Push the beads up between the warp threads with your finger (Figure 2).

Step 4: Sew back through the beads, keeping the needle on top of the warp threads (Figure 3).
Step 5: Repeat steps 2–4 to complete the pattern, ending and adding thread as needed. Once you complete the last row, secure the working weft thread by weaving it into the beadwork.
