  • 6 4 mm bicone crystals (Swarovski, light rose)
  • 24–28 3 mm bicone crystals (Swarovski, khaki)
  • 18–24 3 mm fringe drops (Miyuki 132F, matte transparent light amber)
  • 6 6/0 seed beads (Miyuki 4220, Duracoat eggplant)

Wire-wrapped rings

32 mm ring

1. Cut 48 in. (1.2 m) of 28-gauge wire, fold it in half, and place the 32 mm ring in the fold. You will work with each end of the wire individually. Wrap one wire end around the ring three times, ending with both wires facing away from the center of the ring.

 

2. Pick up a 6/0 seed bead, and position the 6/0 on the outside edge of the ring. Make three wraps without adding a bead (FIGURE, a–b). 

 

3. Pick up an 8/0 seed bead, position it on the outside edge of the ring, and make three wraps (b–c).

4. Pick up a 4 mm bicone crystal, position it on the outside edge of the ring, and make three wraps (c–d).

 

5. Repeat steps 2–4 two more times, covering half the perimeter of the ring.

 

6. Repeat steps 2–5 with the other wire end to embellish the other half of the ring, but reverse the order of the beads so that the pattern is consistent around the ring. 

 

7. String each wire through the last bead added with the other wire, wrap each wire once around the ring, and trim each wire on the inside of the ring. 

 

25 mm ring

1. Cut 1 yd. (.9 m) of wire, fold it in half, and place the 25 mm ring in the fold. Wrap one wire end around the ring twice, ending with both wires facing away from the center of the ring. 

 

2. Pick up a 3 mm fringe drop, and make two wraps. Continue in this manner for half the perimeter of the ring.

 

3. Repeat step 2 with the other wire end, and then work as in step 7 of “32 mm ring.”

19 mm ring

1. Cut 1 yd. (.9 m) of wire, fold it in half, and place the 19 mm ring in the fold. Wrap one wire end around the ring once, and then pick up 24 3 mm bicone crystals. 

 

2. Lay the crystals around the perimeter of the ring, and with the other wire end, wrap around the ring between the crystals (PHOTO), adding additional crystals if needed. 

 

3. With the first end, go through the first crystal, and make a wrap around the ring. 

 

4. Make a wrap with the other wire, and trim both wires on the inside of the ring.

 

13 mm ring

Using 24 in. (61 cm) of wire, the 13 mm ring, and 80 seed beads instead of 3 mm drops, work as in steps 1–3 of “25 mm ring.” 

 

Rivoli components

12 mm rivoli

1. Place the domed side of the 20 mm square filigree on your work surface. Using chainnose pliers, grasp one corner of the square filigree, and make a 90-degree bend. Repeat on the opposite corner. 

 

2. Place a 12 mm rivoli in the center of the filigree so the rivoli point on the back rests in the dome, and continue bending the same two corners to secure the rivoli. The other two corners should remain flat.

  

10 mm rivoli

1. Using chainnose pliers, grasp one petal of the 15 mm filigree flower, and make a 90-degree bend. Repeat for the next two petals. Skip the following petal, and repeat for the next three petals. There should be two petals opposite each other that remain flat. 

 

2. Place a 10 mm rivoli in the center of the filigree flower. Continue bending one petal and then the opposite petal to secure the rivoli. Repeat for the remaining petals, skipping the two flat petals.

 

Necklace assembly 

Open and close the indicated jump rings to link components in the following order: 

 

  •  toggle ring, 4 mm jump ring, color A 6 mm jump ring, 10 mm jump ring, 13 mm wire-wrapped ring
  • 10 mm jump ring, color A 6 mm jump ring, 10 mm jump ring, 19 mm wire-wrapped ring
  • 10 mm jump ring, color A 6 mm jump ring, 10 mm jump ring, 32 mm wire-wrapped ring
  • 10 mm jump ring, color A 6 mm jump ring, 10 mm jump ring, 25 mm wire-wrapped ring
  • 10 mm jump ring, color A 6 mm jump ring, color B 6 mm jump ring, one flat corner of the 12 mm rivoli
  • color B 6 mm jump ring (connected to the other flat corner of the 12 mm rivoli), 32 mm flower link
  • color B 6 mm jump ring (connected to the other end of the 32 mm flower link), end link of a 9-in. (23 cm) piece of chain
  • color B 6 mm jump ring (connected to the other end link of the chain), one flat petal of the 10 mm rivoli
  • color B 6 mm jump ring (connected to the other flat petal of the 10 mm rivoli), color A 6 mm jump ring, 4 mm jump ring, toggle bar.
