Bridal button bouquets

Discover how tiny buttons are trending with the bridal world in a big way.

Some modern-day brides are opting to walk down the aisle with button-flower bouquets instead of fresh-cut flowers. Special buttons, such as those from a grandfather’s everyday sweater to ones from Mom’s wedding gown, can be incorporated to make these one-of-a-kind bouquets even more distinctive for the big day.

Button bouquets turn out to be travel-friendly as well! My husband and I live in Wisconsin, but we got married in New York City. I had originally planned to purchase fresh-cut flowers the morning of our ceremony, but I quickly realized I wouldn’t have to. Instead, I made my own button bouquet which I packed and brought with me. I added a meaningful flying-pig charm to mine which represented my dog, Abby, who I desperately wanted at the ceremony but was unable to attend (she was my angel and ate like a total pig).

Whether DIY-made or commissioned by a bespoke artist, button bouquets provide a certain wow-factor making them a memorable conversation piece. Plus, they are a great alternative for those pollen-sensitive brides! These special bouquets become lasting keepsakes. It’s no wonder this modern button-y trend has really latched on!
