I've always been happiest around words: I been reading since preschool, writing since I could hold a pencil, and I have been editing other people's work since high school. I have an extensive background in all sorts of non-fiction publishing, and I have been making jewelry as a hobby for more than ten years.

When it comes to creating art, I have always had more creative spirit than talent, but I am a decent metalsmith and a pretty accomplished enamelist. Regrettably, I just do not have the eyesight for bead weaving! I also dabble in several other crafting areas, including paper crafts, mixed media, embroidery, and needle felting, and I love to mix those elements into jewelry.

I'm a lifelong enthusiast of children’s literature and collect rare books, paper dolls, vintage Christmas decorations, and many other things! Originally from the Chicago suburbs, I currently split time between Milwaukee, WI and Evanston, IL.
